Special Appeal:
The nesting of the loggerhead sea turtles occurs along the southeast coast of the United States. What many do not realize is that during this active summer season, many sea turtles are injured by propellers from boats, nets, ingestion of debris (especially plastic bags and balloons) and disease. The South Carolina Aquarium in Charleston accepts turtles for rehabilitation, but the effort is seriously straining their budget!
